Myofascial Decompression/
Cupping Therapy

Myofascial decompression (MFD), also known as cupping therapy, is a type of soft tissue work involving negative pressure to lift and decompress your tissues that improves tissue gliding and mobility. Decompression can help relieve tight tissues, improve blood flow and decrease pain.

MFD/cupping is a good treatment option if you

  • have chronic tissue tightness

  • have specific mobility concerns

  • feel that other soft tissue treatments like massage and foam rolling don’t quite do the trick

Cupping may be used during your physical therapy appointment. Recovery sessions are stand-alone sessions not intended to treat new injuries or if you know you need other treatments such as a movement assessment and corrective exercise.
